Women and Economic Security
Of the 62 million wage and salaried women (age 21-64) working the US, just 45% participated in a retirement plan Women age 70+ have less than half the balance in retirement accounts than men the same age. Women’s earning average $.80 for every $1 earned by men – a lifetime loss of over $300,000. 4/11/2019

On average, women caregivers lose $324,044 in lost wages, social security benefits, and retirement plans over a lifetime. In 2014, 46% of unmarried older women relied on Social Security for 90% of their income. The average annual income for a woman on Social Security if $1096/mo or $13,152 4/11/2019
