Date: c. A.D , while Paul was in prison in Rome (Acts 28:30-31; Eph. 3:1,13; 4:1; 6:20)
Occasion: Paul used his time in prison to remind the Ephesian Christians of two very important truths: their spiritual wealth in Christ (Eph. 1-3) and their spiritual walk in Christ (Eph. 4-6). Paul may have heard of the condition of the Ephesians from Epaphras and was prompted by the Holy Spirit to write to them (Col. 1:7-8; 4:12-13).
