AIMS of the DAY Participants increase their understanding about CMHDARN. Participants understand the importance of research capacity building. Participants learn about some key steps in research capacity building. Drug and alcohol and mental health sector workers have an opportunity to network. Drug and alcohol and mental health sector workers develop their critical analysis skills in relation to research

UNDERSTANDING CMHDARN
VISION The Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN) is established to broaden involvement of drug and alcohol and mental health community organisations in practice-based research, to promote the value of research and to increase the application of research evidence to everyday practice.

AIMS of CMHDARN supports workers and organisations ……. to develop their research capacity and to contribute to knowledge creation. seeks to develop and promote appropriate research collaborations and relationships with and between academic researchers, research centres, and the MHDA sectors. promotes increased understanding of co-existing issues across the MHDA sectors… promotes access to, use and application of evidence based practice policy and service delivery models... advocates on behalf of the MHDA sectors in relation to increasing research funding opportunities, and liaises with relevant bodies to promote the involvement of the MHDA sectors in research related activities.
