17. Things to consider before your twitter
The fine print
1. Add a brief description about yourself to your profile.
2. Consider adding, “Opinions are mine” to your profile. (Some institutions require this).
3. Personalize your space.
4. Review your institution’s “Social Media Policy.”
5. Remember tweets are permanent. Keep it professional. You are what you tweet!
6. Don’t give specific medical advice over social media platforms or via direct message.
7. Tweet often!
8. Don’t protect your account. This prevents others from retweeting your tweets.
9. When you give talks/presentations, encourage the audience to tweet you.
10.  Separate professional and personal tweets.
