2. WIS Catalogue
the system (even with 15-copies) is largely OK - but the metadata is poor because of the focus on GTS bulletins
phase-out of message switching (& bulletins) should help cleanse the catalogue – reducing the number of metadata records (improve search experience, reduce burden on data providers)
keep re-using existing WIS Catalogue for now, with no significant change in short term?
need to find a way to describe the new real-time message access points and the content of the data stream; also need to effectively describe Web services and cloud-hosted processing services such as Copernicus C3S Climate Data Store
need to improve the pathway from search to data: from the metadata record (i.e. presented as a ‘homepage’ for the dataset) you should be able to easily navigate to the data itself!
