Grazing Phase - While on Pasture
Vita Ferm Unlocks the Nutrition in Summer Grass Nutrient Pac Moderate nutrient levels to compliment growing forages Specific fescue formula available + Amaferm Improved digestion to maximize forage conversion to meat and milk = Increased weight/day of age on calves Increased stocking rate and/or ability to withstand drought Greater tolerance of heat stress & fescue In the mineral we have a lower nutrient demand. What’s happened? I am past peak milk production, so her requirements are going to go down. Now, with that said and I am sure that that isn’t true of you guys there’s another company having a feed meeting across town you know & they are not stressing this kind of stuff cause there are really missing one important thing - preconditioning calves. When you hear that what do you guys think about first? Getting calves in, giving them blackleg, P13, BVD. Is that preconditioning? It’s preconditioning as far as vaccination goes. When you give a vaccination does that mean that you got immunity? No it means you gave the vaccine. In late summer when the grasses are most mature, hardest to digest, the nutrient content is not quite as great and if you are giving a vaccine and are expecting that calf to respond, I would challenge you. How about the impact of Amaferm? Because our grasses have gotten more mature they are harder to digest. Ok you say the cows needs aren’t as high that’s true but how about that calf? What is the growth potential of that calf out there? If they have the Vita Ferm mineral, so that you get the Amaferm and get more digestion, do you think that they might grow a little bit bigger? And come closer to what there potential is?

Same Pasture Over 3 Years and 6 Different Months
What to Supplement During Grazing is Like Trying to Hit a Moving Target Same Pasture Over 3 Years and 6 Different Months May June July Aug. Sept. This K State study illustrates how much volatility there can be in forage nutritive value. Reported on a Dry Matter Basis : Source KAES Report of Progress No. 784, Ag

Amaferm Will Help You Hit the Target You Are Aiming to Hit
Increased digestibility of all forage Increased protein availability Increased milk production Increased ADG No matter your target increased digestibility, increased utilization, increased protein availability, increased milk production and increased ADG; Amaferm is added assurance digestive efficiency is at its peak.

Increased Digestibility of Forage

This is an average 20% improvement in forage availability This is a compilation of several Amaferm studies across a wide range of forage type and quality showing a consistent improvement in NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber) digestibility. You have to ask, ’When does an improvement in forage utilization give you an economic advantage?’ The answer, ’Always’.

Increased Protein Availability
215 grams more available in August is equal to 1 pound of 48% SBM This trial by Caton at NDSU measured microbial protein flowing out of the rumen. They found that Amaferm not only increased the amount of microbial protein but significantly increased it as the grass matured. Ruminant animals are unique in that they are able to produce much of their protein needs through microbial protein synthesis. Anytime this is increased it allows producers to save on supplementation expense and gives animals a greater opportunity to perform to their genetic potential. This becomes increasingly important near the end of the grazing season when a calf’s nutrient requirements are on the rise and forage quality is on the decline. These lactation studies support the economic impact Amaferm can have for the suckling calf.

Increased ADG Trial Results 5% average increase Study Control Amaferm
Change KSU (69 days) 1.21 1.28 6% NDSU (84 days) 2.16 2.27 5% Trial Results 5% average increase Improved digestion; more microbial protein output; animals should perform better, correct? Here are 2 University studies done on high fiber, growing diets that show just that. ADG can be affected by many things and although these diets were not formulated for maximum gain, the consistency of Amaferm is evident.

Reports from Customers
Gove County, KS rancher reports +74 lbs. weaning wt. advantage over standard mineral! That is plus.36 pounds per head/day. Velva, ND backgrounder reports calves averaged 936# with a 2.5% shrink. They had gained 2.81# per day for that 105 days! Logan, New Mexico backgrounder reports “Calves consistently out gain and stay healthier. Keeps the cattle in good enough condition that we can more than justify the cost. Overall, it ends up making us money.” The University studies previously shown substantiate the Amaferm advantage, but nothing speaks more loudly than a producer seeing first hand the value of Vita Ferm, with the Amaferm advantage. Whether you are a cow calf rancher or backgrounder, the successful conversion of forage to a marketable commodity, POUNDS of BEEF, is everyone’s ultimate goal. You deserve the benefits of Vita Ferm.

Vita Ferm during Grazing
Make More Money with Vita Ferm Vita Ferm during Grazing Cost: 150 days Vita Ferm Program product $17 Subtract difference of present program Difference 5% increased ADG* $15 5% increased milk production** It’s smart business to invest in nutritional insurance. Odds are you are going to spend money on some sort of vitamin/mineral supplement. Why not INVEST rather than SPEND on something that will make you MONEY!! *.1 lbs x $1 per lb x 150 days to weaning = $15 **.1 lb/day X 150 days to weaning = 15 lbs x $1 per lb = $15
