In 2012, the Texas Republican party stated in their education platform that Critical Thinking skills should not be taught in the classroom because these skills might lead a student to challenge standard/traditional beliefs, to believe something besides what their parents and community believe. Write a letter to the Texas School Board explaining why Critical Thinking must continue to be taught in schools. Use the reasons from your annotated article and the information from 1984 as your arguments( claims).

Requirements for letter
Start with thesis ( we wrote it together in class) You must have three reasons ( claims) on why Critical Thinking must be taught in schools Context is explaining that reason You need 1 data for each claim ( example) Each data must have a 3-5 sentence explanation on how your example that proves critical thinking is important. Must be in a letter format Will be graded with the modified AP rubric Due next class

(t)Critical thinking must be taught in schools because_________, __________, and ______. 1st body paragraph Transition to your first argument, then explain the argument Give a data to support your argument Data can be a real world example we discussed in class, something from 1984 or something from the article Write a 3-5 sentences strong warrant explaining how this data proves your claim on why critical thinking must be taught 2nd and 3rd body paragraph Repeat patter 2 more times Conclusion
