2. Puberty definition
Puberty is the process of physical changes that sees a child's body mature into an adult body capable of sexual reproduction. It starts with hormonal signals from the brain to the gonads: these are the ovaries in a girl, the testes in a boy. Then, the gonads produce hormones that stimulate sexual feelings and bring about changes in the brain, bones, muscle, blood, skin, hair, breasts, and sex organs. Young people grow in height and weight.
