Referrals– Adding a Visit Count
The Referral Counts form provides information on the scheduled and completed visits associated with a referral, including the source of the visits counted. Epic is configured to count a visit each time an appointment is Checked In with an assigned referral. If for any reason the visit was Checked In and co-pay was recorded before the referral was assigned, you will receive an error message if you attempt to assign the referral.

To maintain a correct visit count you can add a manual visit count by following the listed steps. Click the Counts button from the Referral toolbar; this will open the Referral Counts window. Choose the open to Add; this action will open the Add New Count window.

Upon completion of this entry, the Referral Counts screen will appear with all entries of visit counts. If the referral was assigned at the time of check in, this information is automatically logged; designated by a Contact Serial # and cannot be edited. Only manual counts can be edited.
