2. What is a hypothesis?
A proposed answer to a question or problem that can be verified or rejected through testing.
An educated guess to the relationships between factors, and serves as a basis for an experiment to test those relationships

3. IF…..Then…… Statement IF statement (Independent Variable)
States what the scientist will “DO” in the experiment. What the “change” will be that the scientist manipulates or has control over.
It is the CAUSE in the hypothesis.
Then statement (Dependent Variable)
States what the scientist predicts will “HAPPEN” in the experiment. What the “outcome” or the “results” will be due to the “change” that the scientist controlled.
It is the EFFECT in the hypothesis.
