1 “I Can” Study Guide Unit 2-2
1. I can define what a wave is, what it does, and where they occur 2. I can identify the 3 main types of waves and give examples of these from nature 3. I can compare the movement of particles in the 3 main types of waves and recognize similarities 4. I can model the structure of a typical wave using proper terminology 5. I can create an electromagnetic spectrum showing radiation in the correct placement 6. I can identify the sources of radiation and how it travels across space 7. I can elaborate on visible light and the role it plays in my experience 8. I can identify significant features, characteristics, and uses, as well as compare 7 types of radiation 9. I can explain how the behavior of waves is altered in 5 fundamental ways and connect examples 10. I can predict how and why the speed of various waves can change 11. I can recall significant facts about our sun, as well as stars (in general) 12. I can recognize the basic structure of our sun, and the processes that occur there 13. I can explain unique solar activity using proper terminology 14. I can categorize how solar energy is produced, transferred and used 15. I can relate chemistry to the sun/stars 16. I can estimate figures for solar mass, distance, age, cycles, etc.. 17. I can model the process of eclipses through the positioning of objects in space “I Can” Study Guide Unit 2-2 1.
