11 Alcohol and HIV in the Era of ART
What have we established? Harmful alcohol use is associated with HIV transmission and progression HIV increases susceptibility to harm from alcohol What do we still need to do? Demonstrate that we can definitively mitigate these harms through intervention What is needed to accomplish this task? Better measures of exposure (not self report) Harder endpoints (not just change in alcohol)

12 Next Steps Judy will draft a proposal for the PEth analyses
I will draft an outline of the White Paper Consortia Directors will appoint representatives to participate in each of these projects At least one, not more than two for PEth At least one, not more than three for white paper Kendall Bryant, as NIAAA rep, gets a wild card Angela will coordinate conference calls
