21 GREGORIAN WHAT? Gregorian chant is the music proper to the Roman Church. It is the music characteristic of the Roman Church. It is an inheritance from the patristic era. Church teachings have called it the “supreme model for sacred music”.

22 Didn’t Vatican II do away with chant?
“The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 116)

24 Active Participation “Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to that fully conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 14)
