2 Why a Website ? *To increase communication among chapter members
*To save the chapter money that can be used for service and scholarship *To keep retired and reserved members informed about chapter activities *To help promote and publicize our Society through the Internet

3 Policy on the Use of Electronic Communications
*Objectives *Provide information about the Society and its events to all teachers as well as members *Encourage an exchange of ideas and information *Promote service efforts *Enhance visibility of the Society as a presence in the international educational community *Goal All forms of electronic communications will be consistent with the Society’s Purpose and Mission Statement

4 Of Course There are Rules
All DKG websites will contain the Society Purposes and Mission Statement. A light colored or white background must be used and the Greek and geographical name of the chapter must be on the header of the homepage. Website fonts that are easily readable must be used.* Information will be accurate, current and useful. Each page will be dated as to its latest revision. Society websites will include no direct advertising or fundraising promotions. A one-sentence donation of an electronic site maybe included. * Please check the International site for additional information.

5 Privacy & Copyright Issues
*Specific written consent for any Society member or Society group should be obtained and kept on file before the following items are posted. A member’s Street Address Telephone and Fax #’s Pictures News *Written consent is needed and should be kept on file for all copyrighted materials including artwork, music or text *Approval is needed from International Headquarters to post any official Society correspondence

6 How to Link up to International
In order to be eligible for a Website link to International, a state organization or chapter website must adhere to the standards adopted by the Society. Once the Website is in compliance, application can be made to become an official link to the International Website Chapters should send their request to Joanne Davis, International Communications and Publicity Chair at

7 How to Begin to Build an Approved DKG Website
Once you fill out the interactive form # 72 and check the box First-time Certification also found in the folder labeled Website, you will your completed form to Joanne Davis, International Communications and Publicity Chair at You can begin to build a website using one of the free sites. Weebly.com is a free site recommended by DKG. DKG International site provides a link showing directions on how to set up a Weebly.com site. Click on the Forms link located at the top, right-hand corner of the homepage of the DKG International website and click on the folder labeled Website. In the folder you will find the Weebly link Note: Only chapter websites approved by International will be able to be accessed on the Mu State site.
