Title: Additional Information Elements for SRHO Date Submitted: July 16, 2010 Presented at IEEE c Conference Call Authors or Source(s): Hongseok Jeon, Junghoon Jee, Changmin Park, Yoon-Young An (ETRI) Abstract: This contribution presents additional Information Elements required for single radio handover.

3 Overview The information service in IEEE provides information about access networks and PoAs within a geographical area to facilitate network selection and handovers. Information Elements (IEs) are defined to carry the information. Additional IEs would be required to facilitate SRHO. SRHO capability SFF information

4 SRHO Capability Way to expand existing “IE_NET_CAPABILITIES”
IE_NET_CAPABILITIES has NET_CAPS as its data type. NET_CAPS has defined 10 bitmap values (Bit 0 ~ Bit 9). New additional bitmap value: Bit 10: SRHO Capability – Indicates that SRHO is supported when set; Otherwise. no SRHO support is available. Way to define a new IE under access network specific information elements “IE_NET_SRHO_NETWORK” Description: Indictor whether the access network itself supports SRHO. Data type: BOOLEAN

5 SFF Information Way to create a new container for SFF.
New container: SFF-specific information elements New IEs under the SFF-specific information elements IE_SFF_IP_ADDR: IP address of SFF (Data type: IP_ADDR) IE_SFF_TUNN_MGMT_PRTO: Type of tunnel management protocol supported. (Data type: IP_TUNN_MGMT) IE_SFF_FQDN: FQDN of SFF (Data type: FQDN) IP_TUNN_MGMT: IPSec, IP in IP, GRE, …

6 Further IEs for SRHO IEs for Roaming Policy Anything else?
Policy is out of scope in the current IEEE Std Do we have to define IEs for roaming policy? If so, which IEs are available for the roaming policy? network preference Anything else?

7 Conclusions Information service is necessary for network discovery and handover selection in SRHO. Additional IEs are required for SRHO. SRHO Capability SFF Information Other additional IEs for SRHO would be further included.
