We have been preparing for this independent write for a week now and I hope you are feeling more confident at using WOW descriptive language, structuring your descriptions and explaining a characters personality. For your homework, I would like you to bring in a word bank of adjectives that describe your character in everyway you can think of. You must make sure that you justify your opinion with a ‘because’. For example: Mrs Banks Brave- Mrs Banks is brave because she is fighting against the law for something that she believes in even though she knows it is dangerous. You will need the word bank for Wednesday morning. Don’t forget, use Word Hippo to help extend your language. Comprehension Task Please read through the extract attached and answer the questions attached. We have done a lot of reading comprehension activities this week so I want you to remember what we discussed about USING EVIDENCE FROM THE TEXT, don’t just make up what you think unless the question asks for your opinion. We have done lots of comprehension this week so I am excited to see how much you’ve learned. . Groovy Grammar Challenge Can you use fronted adverbial phrases? A fronted adverbial phrase is where you start a sentence with an adverb. Adverbs are ‘ly’ ending words that help create new and interesting sentence openers. Can you write 5 of your own examples of FAP (Fronted Adverbial Phrases) to link with our play, Mary Poppins? Carefully, Mary Poppins pulled a delicate gold mirror from her bag Spellodrome Please log in to Spellodrome to complete your weekly tasks.
