Library Expectations Talk at appropriate times and use appropriate voices. Keep food outside the library. Drinks must have a top/lid. Leave the library space as you found it. Follow Library Procedures relating to sign-in/out, check-in/out, laptops… Return to class when work is complete. Use electronic devices (iPods, mp3s, cell phones) quietly during lunch or with a teacher for school related purposes only.

Library Consequences First Offense- verbal warning
Second Offense- send back to class for the remainder of the day and teacher is notified. Third Offense- disciplinary referral. Coming to the Library in a privilege, make sure you are earning it.

Can and Can’t in the Library
Things that ARE allowed in the library *read a book/magazine *type assignment *research *check out materials *write *print Things that ARE NOT allowed in the library *food *playing games or shopping on the computer *watching videos (not related to class assignment) *listen to music on the computer

Library Lunch Passes 10 Library Lunch Passes available for each of the three lunch periods. Students will need to come to the library before 10:15am to sign-out a pass. First Lunch Passes are Pink Second Lunch Passes are Blue Third Lunch Passes are Yellow Students will not be allowed in the library during their lunch without one of these passes. Students are not allowed to share their pass; therefore, they will not be able to sign the Library Lunch Pass out for another student.

Appropriate Talk and Voices
Speak so your partner can hear you but no one else. Use language that would not shock MY grandmother. Be considerate of others using the library space

Food & Drink Policy No Food – from home, the cafeteria, or the vending machines: NONE!! Drinks with lids are OKAY Candy and Gum is OKAY but clean up your trash!!

As You Found It Return chairs to the tables.
Clean up ALL your trash, recycle your paper scraps. Please do not re-shelve books, bring them to the circulation desk.

Library Sign-In Procedures
Students will enter the library with a correctly filled out library pass including name, destination, purpose, departure time from class, teacher initials and number. The library pass will be reviewed and signed by Library Staff Student will ALWAYS sign-in using the Library Sign-in Computer located at the front door. Students will remain in the library. When a student needs to leave the library they must speak with Library Staff BEFORE leaving.

Check-out Procedures Choose a Book/ Playaway/ DVD from the collection.
Bring it to the Circulation Desk with your Student ID. If you do not have your ID give us your First and Last Name. Return the book to the Book Return. The Fine Print You may keep books for two weeks. Late Fees are .10¢ a day. 1 Movie—3 days 6 Books—2 weeks 1 Playaway—2 weeks Report card held for missing items or high fines.

Laptop Checkout Students must have parental permission on file in order to check out a laptop. Students may keep the laptop for three days & will sign a receipt Laptops must be returned to Library Staff

THE LIBRARY CAN HELP!!! Want us to purchase something? New items from your suggestions Need resources? Individualized help for your assignments, papers and projects. Need a creative presentation? Come make a brochure, pamphlet, poster, Weebly, Prezi or PowerPoint.

Volunteer Opportunities
Owe a library fine to Whites Creek? Ms. Coutras offers occasional volunteer opportunities for you to work off your fines. She will waive $10 for each hour that is volunteered
