3. Progress in the GIGs - Rivers
Main issues:
Work on fish, macrophytes ongoing
Mediterranean, Eastern continental GIGs are making good progress working on all quality elements
Cross-GIG meeting held February 2009:
Cross-GIG QE groups will be established
Work on RC started (lead: I. Pardo (ES))
Work on large/deep rivers started (lead: DE)
Detailed plans for continuation of IC work will be discussed at next ECOSTAT meeting

Cross-GIG COAST meeting planned early 2009 has been postponed
New coordinator for the MED GIG (A.M Cicero, Italy)
