British Rock And Roll In the mid 1960, an invasion of Britain rock musicians won over the hearts of almost all Americans. They were young new bands that played energetic rock/ power pop music. The youth of America was inspired by the up lifting sound of these British role models. A few bands that created a new name for rock and roll music were “The Beatles”, “The Who”, “Rolling Stones”, and “The Kinks”

Became popular in the United States in 1964 JFK was coincidently assassinated when the music of Britain became popular Helped Americans “snap out” of the depression they were in due to the presidents death.

The After Math Through out the years British rock and roll has stayed with Americas. As for “The Who” Roger and Pete are still around today making music. John Entwistle died at the age of 57 in 2002 and Keith Moon died in The “British Invasion” influenced almost every artist in this century. They proved that rock and roll can have it’s own sound and still be liked by the mainstream audience.
