ELA:
We will begin reading a biography on Martin Luther King Jr. this nine weeks. Vocabulary will be given and 2 comprehension tests will be administered after Chapter 7 and then again at the end of the book. 1st test date TBA. We will discuss all SS Civil Rights Concepts through the readings.
3rd Nine Week Language Skills: Perfect Tense Verbs, Simple Tense Verbs, Subject/Verb Agreement, Punctuating Titles of Works, Proofing Skills, Similes/Metaphors Writing Focus: Opinion with counter arguments (students must be able to defend their opinion with evidence)

Math: This week we will work on multiplying fractions. Students will multiply fractions using models and the standard algorithm. Students will also practice applying their knowledge of fractions through real-world problems.
SCIENCE: In Unit 3, students will learning the basic similarities and differences of animal and plant cells. Students will begin by learning parts of a cell including: cell membrane, cell wall, cytoplasm, nucleus and chloroplasts
SS: We will begin learning about the Cold War including its origins and consequences. As we begin, students will activate prior WWII concepts and tie them in as causes for the Cold War.
