7 A Cosmic Perspective... The line to the Moon and the path of the shadow are parallel lines (which converge in the distance. This phenomenon is similar to seeing the shadow of mountains and the shadow of the Earth on the atmosphere - the “Belt of Venus” It is also related to crepuscular and anti-crepuscular rays.
