1 The Sighs of God and His People
What makes us sigh? Despair? Sadness? Frustration? The Bible tells us that God sighs. Do we sigh about the same things that He does – things like sin, suffering, and oppression? Mark 7:31-37

2 God sighs when… He sees His creation marred and suffering (Mark 7:34)
People are hard-hearted and unbelieving (Hebrews 3:10-19; Mark 3:1-5) His people sin (Eph. 4:29-30; Isaiah 43:24)

3 God’s people sigh when…
They sin themselves (Psalm 31:10; 38:4-9) There is sin in God’s house (Eze. 9:4; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 2 Cor. 7:11) They witness oppression (Proverbs 29:2) They see God’s creation marred (Rom. 8:23; 2 Cor. 5:2-4) They suffer inexplicably (Job 3:23-24) God’s people sigh when…

4 The Lord Knows Our Sighs
“So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isaiah 51:11) “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7)
