Air Masses An air mass is a body of air that has similar temperature and moisture throughout itself We describe air masses with four key words: Polar (P) Tropical (T) Continental (c) Maritime (m) What common words do you associate with each of these terms?

Air Mass Vocabulary Polar masses form over frigid regions of earth
Polar = COLD Tropical masses form over tropical regions Tropical = WARM Continental masses form over land Continental = DRY Maritime masses form over water Maritime = WET
