3 Vocabulary Word Introduction
Read the word chorally Define the word: Read it chorally Example: Let the teacher give an example Ask: The teacher will ask you a question about the word. Tell your answer to your partner. Isabelle Beck’s routine includes: Introduce the word: “A word in the story we will be reading is…….” Define the word with the class. Example: Give an example of the word in a sentence. Ask: Ask the students To think of an incident when they interacted with the word. Have them discuss it with a partner (see the TE for exact us. This routine is also on the back of the vocabulary cards.) Follow this routine for each of the vocabulary words that are introduced/follow this slide.
