Day 73 Two variable inequalities
2
Introduction At times, we come across situations where a problem to be solved has some conditions that the solution should meet. In such situations, the equation modeling the problem will have the specified number of variables subjected to the said conditions. If the variables in the problem are two, we talk about a two variable inequality. In this lessons, we would like to see how we can write the symbolic representations of word problems having two variable inequalities and also represent them on an xy – plane.
3
Vocabulary: Inequalities They are relations that compares situations that may not be equal Two variable inequalities They are inequalities composed of two unknowns Modeling The process of forming an equation or an expression representing a given problem This can be done in the notebooks or on vocabulary cards. Whatever system you use

The side of the boundary line satisfying the inequality is called the wanted region while the other side (that does not satisfy the inequality) is called the unwanted region. To identify the wanted region, we pick a point on one side and find out if it satisfies the inequality. If it does, then all points on that side are in the wanted region otherwise, it is in the unwanted region.
