Introduction to Minecraft
Basic Controls & Gameplay Build-It-Yourself has developed a popular, highly valued, art and engineering, after-school program, driven by technology-in-education research at MIT. We target 12 million boys and girls 8 – 13 in the after-school, USA market. In the next few slides, we will outline our plan to grow from 500 customers to 100,000+ customers generating annual revenue of $50M+. Empowering the next generation of builders

Controls in Options Menu
While playing press “ESC” to pause. Select “Options…” and then “Controls…”. Here you can see ALL of the keys and what they do. You can also click on a button option and change the key for that action. No worries, there is a “reset keys” option. Controls - Movement The keys “WASD” move you forwards, backwards, left and right. The mouse looks up and down and rotates you left and right (turning). Controls - Inventory The “E” key brings up the inventory and closes it by pressing it a second time. Mouse left click the category tabs to see different items. Left click an item to attach it to the mouse and then left click in an inventory block to assign it to your character to use or be able to place. Controls - Interacting
Typically, left click breaks a block and right click places a block. Also, right click interacts with switches and other objects. Scrolling the mouse wheel selects different items in assigned blocks and the number keys do as well. Check the options menu to see if these are the same for you. Controls – Creative Mode
In creative mode pressing the space key twice quickly enables flight. Hold in the space key to increase height, and use left shift to lower yourself. Double press space again to stop flying.
