Two main genes for blood type: Rh
ABO

3. Blood Groups: Rh Single gene
2 alleles (+) or (-)  Rh+ is dominant to Rh-

4. Blood Groups: ABO 3 alleles: IA, IB, i
Based on which antigen is produced on the RBC (A, B, AB, or neither)
IA and IB are codominant, i is recessive
Type O blood is the result of ii (no antigen)

6. Which is a universal donor?
O negative
Which is a universal recipient?
AB positive
