9 The Process - Collection
Classroom teachers will be segmented into PK-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12. Forty teachers from each segment will be randomly selected. Each selected teacher will asked to complete the diary for 4-weeks. During the first 2 weeks, each teacher will record all activities performed using the provided category legend. During the next 2 weeks, each teacher will record only activities performed weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Any activities not performed during the collection period should be added with an estimate of time spent. AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

10 The Process – Data To reduce the collection and data entry burden on teachers completing the survey, Human Resources staff will calculate the total time spent in each activity category from the diaries and enter it into an online form. Teachers should submit their diaries to HR daily during the first 2 week data collection period and weekly during the second 2 week data collection period. All diaries should be submitted to Human Resources no later than April 5. Members of PEP Board will audit data entry to validate accuracy. AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

11 The Process – Analysis Data entry in the online form will be transferred to an excel workbook. There, data can be aggregated or segmented to determine similarities as well as key differences based on level and/or subject area. Specific areas for deeper analysis can be identified through both trends and anomalies. AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT
