Open Date: 03/07/2019 Close Date: 03/14/2019 Assistant Human Resources Director Classification And Compensation Human Resources Description: Manages the University's classification and compensation programs. Supervises HR functions to include pre-payroll, benefits, leave, recruitment, performance evaluations, Worker's Compensation, retirement, HR related technology, and web presence. Interprets and applies HR policies and procedures. Counsels and advises managers and employees. Monitors University full-time equivalent (FTE) positions and vacancies, and reports weekly status to management. Coordinates HR cross-training and desk procedures. Assists HR Director and Vice President and General Counsel with special projects, research and analysis, reports, policies and other duties as needed. Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience in Human Resources Management programs required. SC State government experience and/or experience working in a higher education environment is strongly preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management. Knowledge of classification and compensation area and University policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to make and communicate decisions effectively with a diverse community. Ability to analyze data and present ideas effectively. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. Ability to direct and advise staff members. Must be team oriented. Knowledge of automation concepts, use of personal computer, and HRIS systems. Exercises confidentiality. Hire Range: Commensurate with experience University Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday Position Work Hours: hours per week.
