5. Practicalities: Assessment: Regular 20 minute progress checks in class
End of Year Exam: Summative, 1 hour test completed in lesson
Teachers: Most students will have 3 teachers, focusing on the 3 different areas
Setting: Year 7: science in forms, Year 8 = science in sets.
Predominantly based upon the end of year 7 test, but also progress and attitude through the year will be taken into account
Homework: Pupils will receive minute homework assessments every two weeks

6. How can you support learning?
Never say ‘I don’t get science’ – everyone can learn science. It is a process.
Praise their efforts
Help them (organisation, encourage active learning = flashcards, answering questions, creating codes)
