Choosing Roles For A Season
Factors to consider: Clearly define the roles! Build in class-time to teach all the roles. Students must get practice learning the roles. Build in accountability. Provide resources needed to fulfill roles.
10
A Word On Statistics Remember: Keep it simple.
As with all roles, practice is vital. Learning about statistics (“how” & “why”) is part of becoming more literate about the sport. Scorekeeping skills will transfer across sports.

For Successful Performance
Creating Conditions For Successful Performance Central teacher tasks: Establish importance of the various roles. Assign accountability for role performance. Prepare supporting materials (e.g., team binders; score sheets; equipment; duty team box/-cart).
12
Including All Students
In Sport Education: With diverse roles, physical limitations need not keep students from active participation. Lower-skilled students are more likely to thrive when contributing through non-player roles.
