IPAC’18 Partial, ‘Light’ Peer Review Process
Scientific Publication Board (SPB) Provide sufficient explanatory materials concerning the review process and acceptance criteria to the Main Class supervisors, so that uniformity of standards are maintained in reviews/assessments of those papers. ‘White Paper’ to IPAC’18 OC & SPC SPB has already met 3 times: Oct. 6, Oct. 31 and Nov. 20 DPB Executive Committee Mtg. IPAC’18 Partial, Light Peer Review Process
Peer Review Team PRT (IPAC’18 SPB, Chair + SPC, Chairs for IPAC’18, 19 and 20) Supervise the overall review process, so that its schedule/time-line is maintained and target dates are achieved. SPB will have the final authority to resolve conflicts working with the MC supervisors. DPB Executive Committee Mtg. Nov

Acceptance Criteria proposed for IPAC’18
The published work must not contain clear errors or factual mistakes. The presentation of the results must be understandable. The paper must be in good English. Work and related results by others must be referenced and properly acknowledged. The paper must include references to literature that are appropriate. DPB Executive Committee Mtg. Nov

Acceptance Criteria proposed for IPAC’18
The paper must include own work, performed by the authors and not published elsewhere. Papers are considered not-correctable and therefore rejected in following cases: The whole Ansatz is wrong. The work is from somebody else or claiming authorship from somebody else. Requested changes are not implemented in time. Some aspect or part of the work must be original or demonstrate clear progress over other reports of the work. DPB Executive Committee Mtg. Nov

SPMS module logic: decision making tree
The last meeting, Nov. 20, was particularly devoted to a detailed inspection of the exact sequence of steps in the peer review process, implemented in the SPMS module; such as decision making tree to gain insight into the structure behind it (review, re-review, approval, rejections, PRT intervention, etc. who has which authorities, how to handle false negative etc.) DPB Executive Committee Mtg.
