Important Information:
There will NOT be a spelling test next week!
We are going to start a Literature Unit on the wonderful author Jane Yolen on Monday. One of her most popular stories is Baby Bear’s Books. This story focuses on the joy of reading, something we are working hard to foster this year! Please take a picture of your child reading in his or her favorite spot (in bed, comfy chair, with a blankie—anything goes!) and reading his or her favorite book at home. Please the picture of your child to me for a special class project. I will need the pictures by Wednesday, October 17th. If you are unable to do this picture, me and I will take a picture.
October Oral Presentation: My Favorite Book- Speeches will be presented on the 17th. Students should follow the basic presentation form but may certainly share more information. Your child will need to bring a copy of the book to show the class.
Halloween info:
Children may wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday October 26. We will have a costume parade in the gym around 8:15 in the morning. All parents are welcome to attend the parade.
Our class Halloween party will be after lunch.
Please keep in mind that children will have to wear their Halloween costumes all day at school! They will have to be able to use the restroom on their own and make it through recess while wearing their costume. Plan accordingly! 
