“LO needs a dedicated section on ND & individual sections on ASD/ADHD” “When a parent knows that something is not right everyone needs to know what is accessible. ” “Who updates the Local Offer?” “Information needs to be available via the One Stop Shops.” “LO Needs to be advertised more to parents & professionals.” - YOU SAID - Improve Information “There needs to be contact information on relevant agencies & who does what.” “There needs to be more information for parents pre-diagnosis.” “There needs to be clearer information about the assessment, the purpose & the process. ” “There needs to be a flowchart of the process for diagnosis.” “There needs to be more information on parenting advice.”

- Some of the things we’ve done so far-
Reviewed & revised information on the Local Offer – to make it clearer. (Quick feedback form for users) Ensured there are hyperlinks to other information sources Revised ‘7 minute’ multi-agency briefings (LO) Tweeted the Local Offer/Facebook page/Alder Hey Live Feed Met with the lead for One Stop Shops. Staff briefings Developing a comprehensive package of information for parents. Creating a professional portal to upload information for school & others. Reviewing the information on ASD Pathway to make sure the purpose of the assessment is more explicit. Liaised with local children centres/Early Years Consortia – offer for under 5s – to ensure it is more explicit Developing parenting courses for parents whose children don’t have a diagnosis – Promoted through children centres.

To develop 10 top tips for parents – to support parents in obtaining the right information at the right time. What should they do?

TABLE TOP EXERCISE 2 Purpose – Outline your VISION for children & families? (What should be the overall ambition/goal of an ASD Strategy) What do you want the strategy to achieve? (Maximum of 5 sentences). Outline 6 priorities? (Areas we need to focus upon that will have the greatest impact) Under each priority - list ‘what we need to do.’
