Blessing of Forgiveness
2
Acts 22:16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
3
Before Forgiveness
4
Condemnation 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Romans 3:23-24
5
Condemnation 4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”:
6
Condemnation 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek Romans 2:4-10
7
Bondage & being alienated from God
17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:17-18
8
Bondage & being alienated from God
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:8-10

Blessings in Forgiveness
10
Life 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life Romans 6:1-4
11
Life But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” Matthew 4:4
12
Life in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began, Titus 1:2
13
Hope For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? Romans 8:24
14
Hope 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
15
Hope 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5
16
Peace Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1
17
Joy through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2
18
Joy Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:39
19
Joy Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Psalm 51:12
20
Lessons for Us Today
21
No forgiveness means no security.
to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’ Acts 26:18
22
No forgiveness means no security.
1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2
23
With forgiveness comes the ability to be a blessing to others.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen Matthew 28:18-20
24
Conclusion Forgiveness is only obtained through the blood of Christ
25
Conclusion in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace Ephesians 1:7
26
Conclusion Forgiveness is only obtained through the blood of Christ
Covering sins cannot be accomplished by denying guilt, compensating with good works or trying to hide the reality of sins. The real covering for sin is by God’s grace and the blood of Christ.
