2 EPHESIANS 6:13-14 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.”

4 Good evening. We give praise, thanks and glory to God…
Please repeat: There is joy - in the presence of the angels of God – over one sinner that repents. We give thanks to the men going on before US… We are thankful for our visitors…

5 PSALM 15 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

6 PSALM 15:3 Lord, Who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

7 PSALM 15:4 Lord, Who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

8 PSALM 15:5 Lord, Who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

9 THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD In our text, Paul begins to tell the child of God what he must put on, keep on, and rely on. “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth…” (Ephesians 6:14). Satan lied when he told Eve, “Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4; John 17:17).

10 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
Jesus told Pilate, “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice” (John 18:37).

11 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
The Holy Spirit warns, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness” (Romans 1:18; cf. 2:7-11).

12 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
We need, therefore, to fasten on the belt of truth, by having a love for (2 Thessalonians 2:10), knowledge of (1 Timothy 2:4), and belief in the truth (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Thessalonians 2:13).

13 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
Truth and righteousness have always been a great part of God’s will for man. David wrote, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven” (Psalm 85:10-11).

14 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
Again, “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit” (Proverbs 12:17).

15 LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH TRUTH
Paul wrote, “In all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, “…by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left” (2 Corinthians 6:4-7).

16 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Therefore, the Christian armour also includes…having on the breastplate of righteousness” (Ephesians 6:14). The breastplate covered the body’s main organs (heart, lungs, stomach, intestines, etc.).

17 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Luke wrote, “God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him” (Acts 10:34-35). Jesus said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).

18 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Satan is the enemy of all righteousness (Elymas the magician – a child of the devil (Acts 13:10). However, the apostle John wrote, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit (practice) sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (1 John 3:9; Romans 3:21-26).

19 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Righteousness is revealed in the scriptures (Romans 1:16-17). The Psalmist said, “My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness” (Psalm 119:172). Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…” (Matt 6:33; 1 Peter 2:21).

20 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
John is crystal clear, “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked” (1 John 2:3-6).

21 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
We may fail from time to time, however God has promised: “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).

22 BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
