Mobile Learning > use of different mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, notebooks) and the use of free and open learning resources (OER) * These devices and resources are already widely used in various learning settings, but not yet as common in higher education! 7
L&T Scenarios | Video many ways and possibilities to integrate them for learning purposes start a discussion in class in the context of flipped classroom deeper analysis and knowledge preparation for a meeting/group work provided in a LMS or on a video platform (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo) Teachers can enable students to work collaboratively during video projects and the output can be graded. Students learn how to receive and provide information, and how to present information in a different format. MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18
8
L&T Scenarios | Weblogs
* can be used in different learning scenarios for: - information storage - reflection medium or discourse - publication medium * can support formal and informal learning situations - content management system - personal journals MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18

L&T Scenarios | Weblogs
Social media / Microblogging #Twitter #Instagram = a form of blogging i.e. Users can post short text messages (microposts) or other forms of short content (e.g. pictures or videos); they can be published in private or public mode and are chronologically displayed. MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18
10
L&T Scenarios | Weblogs
E-portfolios = a specific yet important aspect for teaching and learning in digital contexts + pedagogical benefits: more meaningful assessment greater sharing and interaction more visibility and transparency in the assessment greater involvement in the learning / evaluation process more motivation and self-confidence MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18
11
L&T Scenarios | OST e.g. Kahoot, Socrative, Mentimeter
* gamification in education - quizzes in class * conducting polls during lessons - instant anonymous feedback - app and web version available * integrate a survey with our presentation MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18
12
L&T Scenarios | m-tools in distributed context supports interconnectivity and provides opportunities for all to make an input to class content and discussions i.e. mL strategies augment the classroom experience MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18

Discussion & Final Remarks
> mobile devices present great challenges to education systems (Traxler & Crompton, 2015) * Mobile learning = Mobile Technologies + Mobile Pedagogy! MINE * G. Bastos, P.Bauer, T. Cardoso, S. Cornelius, K. Mertes, R. Shanks * #edulearn18
