Carousel Text Features Walk
Give each group an A3 sheet. As they move around in their groups, they discuss each text features, and write what they think that part of the text will be about, and what questions they have about that part of the text.

What you have to do in a Text Features Walk…
1. Discuss what kind of information you would expect to find in the text. 2. Write any questions you have about the topic, which might be answered in the text.

1. Discuss – what can you see? What does it mean? What does it make you think about? What do you already know? 2. Questions – for example: Where…? When…? What…? How…? Why…? Which…? Who…?

When you get back to your own table…
1. Quickly look at the completed poster on your table. What questions are there? What information is there? 2. Now read the text, and SCAN it for any answers or similar information to that on the poster. With a RED PEN, circle the questions on the poster which are answered, and underline the answer in the text. With a GREEN PEN, circle information on the poster which is found in the text – underline the information in the text in GREEN.
