1 CLASS OF 2020 REGISTRATION

2 ** GOALS FOR TODAY… ** TO UNDERSTAND THE BHS COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR * YOU WILL RECEIVE A LOT OF INFORMATION TODAY! * ADVISORY TEACHERS MAY BE ABLE TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS, BUT IF NOT, YOU WILL HAVE AN INDIVIDUAL APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR COUNSELOR WHO CAN! ** TO BEGIN TO ENTER YOUR COURSE REQUESTS IN ASPEN

GREEN Course Registration Worksheet (Please bring your completed form to your individual appointment with your Counselor) ORANGE Course Selection/Elective Focus Sheet (2-sided) BHS Graduation Requirements/KCS Core Course Sequencing Chart (2-sided) Student Transcript (Attached to GREEN sheet) * Use this along with the Graduation Requirements sheet to indicate courses you have completed

4 Things to keep in mind as a rising Senior…
Early Graduation (please speak with your Counselor at your individual appointment and receive application) Dual Enrollment (All courses will be at PSCC or online) Attend the DE Information Mtg Reps from PSTCC & Tusculum will be available and/or speak with your Counselor at your individual appointment See Course Selection sheet for additional courses that require applications/auditions (indicated by ❡) You will have an individual appointment with your Counselor to review your course selections Dates for these appointments are February 11th – 14th (during English or Social Studies classes)

5 Getting Started… Take out your GREEN sheet and write in your English, Math, Science, and Social Studies course selections in the Course Code box (you should see your teachers’ recommendations in Aspen) Take out your ORANGE sheet, find the Course Codes for the Electives you would like to take, and write the Course Name and Codes in the boxes Find the Course Codes for 3 Alternate Electives you would most prefer, and write the codes in the boxes You can now begin to enter these choices into Aspen (you have until 2/18/19 to complete) Teachers…Please emphasize to students that it’s OK if they don’t know their Core Course levels

2020 ends February 13th at 3:30 pm. Click the Select button for each subject area and make your selection. Students should READ DIRECTIONS FIRST!

10 Subject Requests (e.g. English)
This student has been recommended for AP Eng Lit, and therefore cannot change the request at this time. * If a teacher has made a recommendation, the course will already be selected and the student will not need to make a selection. If no recommendation has been made, a student should select a course. Make your selection from this list, unless your teacher has already recommended you.

13 STEP 7: CLICK COURSE DROP DOWN TO SKIP TO A SPECIFIC COURSE

14 STEP 8: SELECT 3 ALTERNATE ELECTIVES

15 STEP 9: ADD NOTES – POST TO COMPLETE
You may add specific notes to your counselor here (e.g. If I do not get into Musical Theatre, I would like Adv. Art). Click POST when you are finished making your selections.

16 AFTER YOU CLICK POST… You have until Monday, February 13th to update/enter your requests in Aspen. Your counselor will meet with you individually to review your requests and graduation requirements during your English or Social Studies class from February 11th – 14th. Please bring your completed GREEN Course Registration Worksheet to this appointment!
