It demonstrates areas of transmural myocardial damage (black ellipse) along with areas of spared myocardium with minimal and nontransmural damage (arrows). This demonstrates a continuous band of transmural injury (yellow line) with involvement of immediately adjacent connective tissue, fat, and nerves. The remaining part of the vein circumference shows vascular collagen without muscular involvement.
