This project will impact on student employability, student recruitment and the student experience. The secure online professional community allows:
Alumni & staff can search for & connect with other graduates (globally)
Alumni can mentor a current student or recent graduate
Alumni can act as an ambassador and support conversion by sharing their experience of Plymouth with applicants who are in receipt of an offer.
Alumni can offer a student / graduate a careers opportunity

Captures up to date alumni details
Plymouth Connect is a secure online professional community, developed as a collaborative project by the Alumni Engagement Team, Careers & Employability, Student Recruitment and Admissions, the Director of Student Services, Create Digital, Technology and Information Services and members of the University’s legal and Data Protection teams.
Data captured through the platform will update data held in the alumni database and can be utilised to support a number of projects including the DLHE survey and alumni case studies

3. Plymouth Connect
Over 1,000 Plymouth University alumni have registered!
10% have pledged to mentor a student or act as an ambassador and share their career success with Plymouth University applicants.
Plymouth Connect opened to alumni to register 3 months ago – with a good number registered to mentor we are currently running a pilot with a small group of students to trial the platform and make sure the e-mentoring works effectively.

4. Phased Roll Out Student rollout
Pilot currently running with a small group of students
Will open to Final year students over April & May
Focus on final year students (DLHE) prior to them leaving the University
We will be offering training and support for students
The student rollout is fully supported by UPSU
final year students will have received Careers support and be more aware and equipped to maximise on the benefits of mentoring
about to make the transition from education to work

5. Plymouth Connect Call to action:
If you are in contact with graduates of Plymouth University please share this link with them and encourage them to register as a mentor or ambassador 
We are currently looking for more academic representation on the Plymouth Connect working group, if interested in engaging please contact Jean Almond (Alumni)
Over April & May we will be in contact to promote to your students and will provide staff with materials to help them encourage final years to register, including:
 a draft for staff to send to final year students
 a PPT slide for staff to display in lectures
 a template wording to add to your programme sites on the DLE
