WOW 11 READ: Rod Serling wrote, “There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices—to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy. A thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all its own for the children…and the children yet unborn, and the pity of it is…that these things cannot be confine to…The Twilight Zone!” THINK: What do Serling’s words mean in relation to our world today? Do you agree with them or not? Why? WRITE: Write about how prejudice affects society. Is prejudice something that can be overcome or stopped? If so, how? If not, why?

WOW 12 READ: Frederick Keonig states, “We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” THINK: What does Keonig’s statement mean to you? Do you agree with him or not? How does this quote relate to giving to others and being charitable? WRITE: Write about a time when you have given something to someone less fortunate. How does it make you feel to do so? How do you think the recipient feels in that situation?
