4. Summary
When Beth and conrad return back home Beth is motionless and speechless . Calvin tries to communicate with her and help her out only to realize that he is pushing her away. Cal leaves her alone and Conrad talks to his father and jokes around with him by saying that he is the “ indispensable man”. Conrad does not realize that his harmless joke hit Cal harder than it should have. Beth Cal and Conrad all go out to dinner as a family. Beth begins to act like an “actual mother” and take an interest into her son. Both Conrad and Beth were able to communicate with each other comfortably. Conrad in the end gives his mother a hug which catches her by surprise which she did not know how to react that situation and was just motionless
