The purpose of an evidence sandwich is to ensure that your reader understands your evidence, why you are choosing it, and how it connects to your topic sentence. Good writers who use the evidence sandwich model “leave nothing on the plate,” i.e., they leave nothing left for their readers to wonder or question.
