Forces A force can be a push or a pull. It is not something you can see or touch, but can see it in action . The unit of force is called the Newton.

Contact force In physics, a contact force is a force that acts at the point of contact between two objects. Contact forces are described by Newton's laws of motion, as with all other forces in dynamics.

Non – contact force A non-contact force is a force applied to an object by another body that is not in direct contact with it. The most familiar example of a non-contact force is weight.

The force of gravity The force of gravity is the force exerted by the gravitational field of a massive object on any body.

Air Resistance Force The air resistance force is a special type of frictional force that acts upon objects as they travel through the air.

Tension Force The tension force is the force exerted by a compressed or stretched spring upon any object that is attached to it.

Questions and answers What is a contact force?
A contact force is a force that acts at the point of contact between two objects, in contrast to body forces. What is a non contact force? A non-contact force is a force applied to an object by another body that is not in direct contact with it.
