QUEBEC MAY 4 -11
2
Purpose of this trip is…
To give participants a genuine opportunity to use their French conversational skills in a real context To provide an understanding of Quebec culture through a variety of learning experiences To provide a blend of Educational, Cultural and Physical activities “en Français”
3
Purpose… To help develop skills as a traveler
To provide an interactive, hands-on Nature and Cultural experience To help participants become more responsible and independent To experience the interactive dimensions of group living
4
This field trip is an extra-curricular activity
It is therefore outside the present school curriculum It compliments it but…. It is a CHOICE and NOT MANDATORY! Your child can still have a successful Grade 8 year without going on this trip
5
Do not feel pressured… To send your child on such a trip if you feel he/she is not ready emotionally and/or socially If your child does not express a desire to go on this trip If your child is feeling ambivalent or has any doubts about going More of these trips will be offered at high school, most much better than this one! Some students need more maturity to take part and appreciate this sort of field trip. Pressuring them to take part, in the hope that it will mature will not work.
6
No pressure please! This experience is intense!
Students need to be motivated to take part Some students are not ready to fully take advantage of this trip Sending them in the hope they will mature into it will not work
