2 DO NOW: Take out packet and H.W.
2. Use tape diagrams and equations to solve the problem with visual models and algebraic methods. Alyssa is twice as old as Brittany, and Jazmyn is 15 years older than Alyssa. If Jazmyn is 35 years old, how old is Brittany? Let a represent Alyssa’s age in years and b represent Brittany’s age in years.

3 Objective: I will be able to: Use variables to represent numbers and write expressions when solving a real-world or mathematical problem; understand that a variable can represent an unknown number, or, depending on the purpose at hand, any number in a specified set and solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations So I can learn how to reason about and solve one-variable equations in order to solve multi-step equations by using tables to determine my answers. I will show that I understood it by verbally discussing and then successfully writing the solutions to complete at least 2 problems from the pg. 147 packet of real world problems with my partners with at least 80% accuracy. 6.EE.B.6, 6.EE.B.7
