A multiplication chart can be a wonderful tool for ALL fraction operations! Complete the multiplication chart, so we can start the MAGIC!

3. Multiplication Chart Magic for Reducing/Simplifying Fractions
To simplify :
Locate the COLUMN in which your two numbers appear.
Then, “slide” to the left to determine the simplified solution. *Note* The column heading is the common factor.

When this occurs, use the set that appears highest in the chart. If not the solution will not be fully simplified, and the process will have to be repeated using those two new values.
