Homogeneous Solutions(L, S,or G)
When mixed = Uniform Distribution of particles (Makes is seem as if it is one single substance) Example: Sugar and Water Solutions(L, S,or G) Solutions are a type of homogeneous mixture groups of molecules that are mixed up in a completely even distribution.
3
Parts of a Solution 1.Solute 2. Solvent Concentration:
The substance to be dissolved. 2. Solvent The one doing the dissolving. Concentration: The ratio of solute to solvent The more solute the more concentrated solution. The more solvent the less concentrated the solution.

Making a Solution Looks like a single substance
5
Solutions Salt is the solute Water is solvent Low Concentration
High Concentration
6
3 Ways to increase the rate of dissolving a solid.
Stirring or shaking--moves the particles around the solvent faster Heating—causes the particles to move more rapidly Crushing—increase the surface area exposed to the solvent
