If you put this thing in a pile with other things like it, it is what you would call the pile
In a story, it is the lesson the main character learns

7. How to Find Theme Ask yourself: What does the writer want me to learn?
Look for a lesson that a character learns.

8. Theme is Not!!! The main idea... It is so much more!!!
It is not a one word answer...

It is important to understand that different types of writing can contain more than one theme...
